Since Neal has been swinging on the same hook for 20 plus years, we

The bone reef will be in a circular pattern for sure do to swinging
on the hook.

For 1 asa point: When the bones break the surface will this formation
be a reef, an island or an atoll?

An atoll becasue it will be a round formation filled with water..that
is, unless the prevailing winds held him in one position longer...then
it might be a reef if the circle doesn't close...it would only be an
island if the whole thing filled in and his boat sat upon it,
beached...I suppose that could happen if he moored it somewhere where it
never moved but doubtful...

Better wait for more answers, not sure that you are correct.

He may be in deep enough water to create an abyssal plain.
