If I'm not mistaken you aretalking about the Canso Causeway. if so,
there is a lock there of the same dimesnsions as the St. Lawrence
eeaway locks.

Whiel you;re in the neighbourhood, you should check out the Bras d'Or
lakes as well in Cape Breton as well. While I have never sailed them,
they are spactacular by all accounts.
