Mythbusters did a thing on plants and the emotional treatment of them. I
believe there was some response.

Yes..they respond to light and warmth and water...they are, after all,
alive. There is a difference between alive and sentient...when one of
your plants walks across your parlor floor and pours you a drink, let me
know...
