Hello,
I have a 24 foot I/O and I am wondering if this would be capable
of travelling from Miami to the Bahamas. The boat holds 68 gallons of
gas which should be enough, but I am thinking it might just be too
small to handle the voyage.

Anybody with experience or opinions about making the voyage on a 24
footer?

thanks,
daniel

Reading this thread does help explain a lot of the mysterious
dissapearnces in "the Bermuda Triangle". The operative question might
be how far are the Azores if you miss?
This is not a problem for experienced offshore sailors but too many
people leave Miami/Ft Lauderdale with "plenty of gas" and not enough
knowlege.

Offshore?!? Here, they get 1/2 miles from the boat launch and get into
trouble. Last summer, there was an incident involving a guy who thought
"rafting" meant driving the bow of his bubble boat into the center of his
friend's boat. Four times. I won't even bother describing his explanation,
provided on the evening news by a coast guard person who seemed equally
challenged. Fortunately, only the boats were hurt.
