plaque. I still have the bayonet. What's dumb about it?

John H

If:
1) It came from an enemy soldier's weapon and....
2) You had nothing to do with obtaining the bayonet....
3) Do you make any wild claims about why you have the bayonet?

1) Yes, and
2) Yes, was only the commander of the troops who obtained same,

and
3) Only proud that my troops were involved and thought enough of

me
to
give it
to me.

On the 'Poco Loco' out of Deale, MD
on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay!

I did no more to earn my trophy than Bush did to earn his.

Where were you while your troops were obtaining the bayonet? And, in

what
war?

Company hq, Vietnam
John H

Oh...OK. Well, on a 1 to 10 scale of "who deserves such a thing", you're

a
9, while Bush is a 1. His prize should've been presented to someone more
closely connected with our presence in Iraq, like David J. Lesar.

I don't object toBush having the pistol; Why does he have to brag about

it?

Sounds to me like just another example of "Bring em on"

I don't imagine John H called in the press to show off his trophy, and if
he's like most vets, probably keeps it in a closet someplace out of sight.
He might show it if asked by his grandkids or something.

There are just some things left unsaid.

To complete your last sentence: "....by adults with some sense of taste and
propriety, and reverence for the way such a trophy was gotten". That
excludes..well..you know who.
