Is it possible to read while using the elliptical?

Not really. Your hands and arms are occupied in the workout as well ... a
vertical rowing motion.

There are some ellipticals that have a built in video monitor/tv in the
console. Quite frankly, when I am at the peak of the resistance curve, I am
huffing and puffing and concentrating on getting through the workout.

I do it all the time. There's a ledge on the bottom of the
display panel designed to support a book, magazine, or
newspaper in a comfortable position for reading. My
hands/arms are swinging lightly at my sides and the overall
body motion leaves the head fairly steady. There may be
heavy breathing and lots of sweat but I prefer to
concentrate on something else.

Thanks rick. I'm the same way as far as the reading goes. The book makes
time fly, or at least not drag..

Now, how would one decide between the Sole and the Precor? Consumer Reports
gives the Precor EFX 5.19, at $2800, the highest score of the ellipticals
it rates, but that doesn't include the Sole.
