To answer your question ... the elliptical takes a while to get used to ...
mostly the motion.
When I first set it up and tried it, I thought it was a mistake because I
was so used to the treadmill.
Even though I had been using the treadmill faithfully for 2 months, the
first 10 minutes on the elliptical left my legs shaking.
Now, I prefer the elliptical and do most of the workout on it. On the off
days for weights, I'll do 2 or miles on the elliptical with a custom
resistance program and then another 2 miles or so on the treadmill at a 4-5
degree incline. On weightlifting days I only do the elliptical to warm up.
Heh... Mrs. E's kickboxing dummy is in the gym also. I bought some workout
gloves and smack it around for a while sometimes. In itself, it's quite a
workout.
