Default The end of bottom painting? Experience with "Boat Hull Shield"? ChlorFree?

Setting aside the ChlorFree- Aqua-Smart Hull "ionization" systems;
1) what about experiences (Pros & Cons) with Boat Hull Shields? They
appear innovative & simple to protect a hull & its motor, prop,
centerboard, etc. Any sucessfull installations on East Coast-- or
mostly in San Diego, Calif., & on lakes?? We'd like to see some & talk
with satisfied users!
Also:
2) any technical Pros/ Cons the ChlorFree "ionization" system?
Would the amounts & fate of the Cu++ ions added to the water
circulating around the hull be much different than std. copper hard
paint (ex-Trinidad)
that lasts at least 2 years? Any comments affects on sealife- esp.
oysters, clams, benthic critters, etc?
Good sailing, John & Cindy R. Virginia

Thought you guys might be interested in this technology - they seem to
have sold it to some tough customers.
