I think you'll find that far more kids are shot than burglars in the
US.

Every day. They are called gangsta thugs, and they range in age from about
11 through 21. And the anti-gun studies call them all "children." The
intent of such studies is to make the uninformed believed that innocent
little kids get shot with regularity by their equally innocent little pals
playing with daddy's gun. Of course people like you do nothing to dispel
the myth. To the contrary you are more than happy to propagate it.
