Ah, an old NCR guy. They offered me a position in SC after I finished my
degree and was working in Calif for NCR. Decided I liked CA better and
changed jobs. Would have taken a job at Rancho Bernardo.
Not exactly on topic, but two of the best transceivers I've ever owned
were made by a subsidiary of NCR - Signal One. My Dad had one to
evaluate for the ARRL and ended up buying it - a CX-7 and he gave it
to me when he bought a CX-11.
I miss that radio. :)
Here's some interesting history of the Signal One radios. I drooled over
them when they were first available but didn't have the resources at that
time.
