Default adding a 24 volt trolling motor to a 12 system

Andina,

This is a great recommendation for this type of application. It's
simple, cheap, compact, automatic, easy to understand and correct if
something goes wrong, and far more efficient and better for the life of
the batteries then any other approach. Although there are other
approaches, this cannot be beat.

Please ignore the negative comment from Bill, we have been jaded by
various posters on this board, and strike back quickly (and
maliciously) when people use the forum to advertise their own products
(without a relevant question being posted by someone first).

What would be even better is if you actually read my post and answered what
I asked. All you managed to do is try and sell me something that I don't
even have a need for.

Go to http://www.yandina.com/troll24info.htm and scroll down to the
schematics. You would use Schematic B. The advantage of this system
is the batteries charge in parallel so you can charge them from the
outboard motor or any standard 12 volt automobile style charger. You
don't need a 24 volt charger or a dual output charger.

A big advantage is your two deep cycle batteries remain in parallel as
they are now when the trolling motor is not running. It is fully
automatic and comes with an unlimited warranty.

Many report that their trolling batteries are already fully charged by
the time they get back to the trailer. You can also use the trailer
output on your tow vehicle to charge the trolling (and starting)
batteries.

Email me direct if you have any questions or post them here.

Regards,

Ann-Marie Foster,

Hey,

I just purchased a 24 volt trolling motor, however everything on
my
boat is 12 volt. I have the staring battery and 2 deep cycle batteries.
Can I somehow connect the new trolling motor to this system, if so how?

Thanks,
