Last time I went on the tour of the UN building in NY they proudly
showed
me the damn great hall in which their anti-colonial committee had its
meetings. This was a few years ago now so they have lost Hong Kong but of
course Gibraltar was on their list.
But what really made me laugh was that Pitcairn was on the list!

Less than 50 people living there and making a precarious living from

postage stamps and totally dependent on occasional visits from a supply
ship
from New Zealand! Did anyone ask them if they wanted independence?

income and standard of living than the UK. We are also more democratic
than
the countries that some of the members of the UN committee of
decolonisation
