Good grief. A 55' barge? Why?
A cruising couple, not living aboard, enough boat so the female is comfy?

Everything you need to fish offshore AND be comfy for a week aboard.
The Sabre 36 is a nice boat and plenty big enough for a week of
cruising. We used to go out for 2 weeks on our old Bertram 33 and it
was quite adequate for that.
However, we were looking for a boat that was comfortable for 6 months
at a time, our summer home up north, and the cruise back and forth.
Mrs B also felt strongly about having 3 cabins so we could have the
kids and their significant others aboard, not to mention the
possibility of future grandchildren. That was always an interesting
conversation with the yacht brokers when they asked just how many
grandchildren we had. :-)
In addition, I wanted a boat with significant range, something close
to 1,000 miles or more that could cruise to Bermuda, Mexico and the
Carribean.
To do all of that with decent storage space, good galley,
fridges/freezers, twin generators, 2 or 3 heads, and full guest
amenities, you need something close to 50 ft in a trawler or 55+ in a
sportfish.
