Default 14-year-old set to become youngest person to sail solo across the Atlantic

Technically speaking, is it still sailing solo with dad sailing 2 miles
behind him?
It's a great thing for a kid to do, and I'd do the same if it were my kid,
but it seems to detract from other teenagers who have actually done it
alone.

The teenager, from land-locked Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, set off from
Gibraltar on the 3,500-mile voyage to the Caribbean on November 18. He
hopes to reach his destination off the island of Antigua, and break the
world record for the youngest unaided sailor across the ocean, on January
2.
