Steve ,, before the businesses start making the big bucks, and the Cuban
government starts cleaning up ... there are numerous law suits which need
to be settled.

When Castro took over, he took all the property of big companies such as
ATT, etc.

Those companies are waiting to get paid.

As for the investment, the Europeans/Russians ... nope. USA big business
as been negociating in Cuba for years.

Since they could not open businesses, they paid for accesss rights.
Think of it as a First Right of Refusal.

I hope Cuba does it right, figures out a good plan which balances greed
with need.

Every cruise ship on the planet has the charts of Cuba sitting in the
Captains' desk. Deep harbors, and close to Miami!

As it is now, many cruising sailboats visit Cuba. Many from the USA. I
spoke to a sailor from Florida who would go to Cuba quite often.
He got work done on his boat, had a good working relationship with the
Cuban shipyard, boatyard. He paid in US Dollars.

Then he violated federal law.

Exactly. Only large corporations are allowed to spend US Dollars in Cuba.
