Have a 1972 Pearson with an aluminum boom that looks like it was
made in - 1971. Any way to get it looking better - short of paint ?
A friend suggested sanding off the pitting , but also cautioned
against weakening it with too much sanding - but it would be nice to
restore a new aluminum finish -

Do a google search on this newsgroup. That other "Capt. Neal" has a way
to
fx an old, worn-out aluminum boom. Since yours is just an old Pearson, a
Coronado fix might be just what you are looking for.

Why are you posting an answer to a question over a year old?
Do you thing Barrett is still waiting for an answer?

Joe

Maybe you should just ignore him?
