How
about a pic of your new 'shed'?

Thanks for the pictures Peter, that's a great "shed"! Tas looks like a
marvelous place, apparently today has some historical significance for
you; Abel Tasman first sighted your island in 1642 on this day.
Random selection of pix. Roof trusses go up tomorrow I hope. The
scaffolding is in the back of the truck ATM. I'll take some more shots
as it progresses.
Bought a 3 phase 12" table saw and attached 6" buzzer/planer off of
Ebay this week. $615 AUD or slightly less tan I paid new for the POS I
have now. Freight company picked it up yesterday in Sydney, should
arrive next week. My Chinese POS 10" table saw will be on the market
and if I get enough to cover the freight bill on the replacement I'll
be quite content. Had 5 years out of it so I can't really complain but
man, does it *hate* ripsawing blue gum!
The old saw weighs maybe 50 kg. The "new" one weighs over 300 kg. I
like old iron. Local company has a big bandsaw for sale, stands 4.2m
high with 900mm dis wheels. ATM they want too much for it but how many
people can house something like that? I can - now :-)
I wish I could take my bandsaw from work when I retire, it's old DoAll,
wheels are about 600mm, 2m or so high, variable speed (50-5200fpm),
integral band welder and cutter, she's over 50 years old. I wouldn't
trade for a brand new one if you paid me, well unless you paid me lot.
Cheers
