Default Image stabilized binoculars

I have been using a Canon 10x30 IS that I got using my AMEX credit card
points.

I really like them. I can read buoy numbers at an incredible distance.

The ability for the image to stay steady gives me a real chance to read
a boat name, attempt to recognize people, and in many instances
understand how the wind is affecting boats in front of me. Without the
stabilization, I wouldn't have the patience to do the same at even 20%
of the distance if I do now.

Mine has a feature that it auto-shuts off when you put them down, I
think that feature is a must have to preserve battery life. Even more
important then a compass (IS binoculars don't have compasses ... the IS
electronics interfers with the compass)
