is that White Rocks?

Yes, that's what it looks like. The channel is about a

mile wide
there, but we don't know where they were headed.

I like the guys comment about sailboats don't usually

travel
at night because they need to be under sail to move.

We all know there's no wind at night. Except that day it

was blowing
20+ knots, and even at night it was over 10 knots. Temps

were around
55 during the day, dropping to the mid 40's overnight.

Not the best time for sailing, but probably they were

expecting to be
in by sunset. The report said this "unfolded on the 6PM

news" so it
sounds like they thought they'd be powering in by sunset

but the
engine died.

That's what I was thinking, they were returning from a sail
when something happened. Looks like the head sail is
ripped.

WJZ's Mike Hellgren talked to Anne Arundel County fire
officials, who say the boat suffered a mechanical problem.
That coupled with strong winds caused the sailor to lose
control of the boat.
