I just "built" a fully loaded F-250 on ford.com and the MSRP came to
$54,065. It was almost $51K before options. To help you with the math,
that is only $1610.00 less than the Mercedes Benz GL450 base model. Now
start spinning my post...

The F-250 4X4 I just dealer priced, XLT, tow package, plow package,
extra cab, eight foot bed, liner, auto trans, fabric interior came to
$34,745 before trade on my truck. They have a diesel for $37,950,
same package. We're still arguing over what my truck is worth.

http://www.ford.com is the source. I also have a customer who spent
that kind of money on an F-250. It's the H-D edition plus options.
We're not comparing vehicles here since they obviously are not
competitors for the same market. The "challenge", if you want to call
it that, was that a F250 could (or couldn't) run into the $50K range.
Kevin managed to hit about 15 keys and hit send without checking it out.

No problem - just trying to figure it out that's all. :)

My son and I both bought '05 Ford pickups last summer. His is a F-250 V10
gas XLT Crew Cab, nicely equipped with several options including Tow
Command. It's MSRP was right around 34K.

Mine is a F-350 diesel "Harley Edition" Crew Cab that is loaded up with
every option known to man ... all leather, front and rear buckets, 20" rims,
Tow Command, moonroof, heated seats, etc. plus the custom Harley interior
treatment and exterior paint. It's MSRP was just over 52K, but I paid
considerably less for it. I wasn't looking for a Harley edition but needed
the F-350's tow rating and it just happened to be the only truck available
in my area that was rated to tow a 15,500lb fifth-wheel trailer that I could
get quickly and without placing a factory order. Funny thing is that
regardless of the F-350's increased GVW, payload and towing capacity, the
only difference between it and a F-250 is the rear spring ratings and, of
course, the diesel.

So, everyone's correct.

BTW .... Shortwave .... I don't know if you are considering the gas V10.
It's a nice engine but my son's only complaint is the poor mileage ...
towing or not towing. He's lucky to get 10 mpg around town. Still, he
loves the truck and wouldn't even think of getting rid of it.

There are some construction guys here in town that have the V-10 and
they complain about the gas mileage all the time.

I'm staying away from the V-10.

Whats interesting in this thread is that while the Ford Price has taken
over as the lead issues. If the above is true There is no way to compair
a truck that can tow 15,000 lbs and one that tows 7500lbs ie Mercedes
Benz GL450. Or as the site says - Optional 7,500-pound towing capacity.

These are two totaly different markets here.

Glad to be out of the towing business :-)
