Problems at my voting place: It's a fire house. They put the voting
machines at the top of an extended ladder. If you can't climb, you can't
vote. And, the extension cord keeps losing its grip on the machine's
short cord. They can't tie a loose knot to keep them together because the
fire chief says it's dangerous to bend wires that way.

Sounds like you have a Republican fire chief.

A friend just called to say that at her polling place, they have a table
covered with plastic cups filled with water. Candidates' names are attached
to the cups. You have to stand behind a tape line on the floor and try to
toss ping pong balls into the correct cups for your candidates. Even if you
miss, you get to take home a goldfish. If you're registered to the same
political party as the biggest commercial real estate developer in her town,
you get a few extra chances to throw.
