Default Whotehouse.gov turns political

Very interesting thread, Jim, even if it is all you responding to yourself.

Seriously, I feel the Whitehouse & other government sites should not
disallow archiving. If something is on a governement website it is
public information paid for by tax dollars.

While I'm no fan of Bush, and haven't even followed your whitehouse.gov
link to look yet - - I will note this about the comparison between Clinton
and Bush web sites: The use, understanding, and roll of the internet have
changed a LOT between Clinton's time and Bush's. That may or may not
justtify a more political Whitehouse.GOV site, but it at least need to be
considered. The Internet, or "Information Super Highway" as it was
called ad nausium back then, REALLY got the publics attention around
1994/1996. But even from 2001 to today - the realization of the
political power and uses of the internet has changed DRASTICLY.

Comparing Clinton era use of the internet to Bush era use might
be an unfair comparison on some levels.
