What part of building on the opportunity in front of you did you not

From McDonalds I learned that I had to come to work on time, clean and
neatly dressed. I learned that I had to be polite to the customers,
even those who were rude to me. I learned that I could take it a
little easy during the slow times but had to step it up during the
rush. I learned that it was a low margin, competitive business, and I
had to be effiicient and effective and couldn't waste supplies. My
boss, the store manager, was the hardest worker I have ever known. He
ended up owning that location and several others, and quite wealthy.
Those are all valuable lessons, that if you learn them, you get to
move up in the economic system.
Do you not understand how that works?
And there were people living off of those wages, which adjusted for
inflation is less than what fast food pays today. Of course of what
"live" means has changed
