I know the argument you're making on Kerry's
bashing Bush with a statement that in no way looks like it could
possibley be is based on the hate that we should assume Dems feel for
Republicans.

Man, that's positively post-modern. Jaques Derrida would be proud.

I mean, I could't diagram that sentence even if you threatened me with
Vegamite.

Your study of grammar stopped too early. Remove Walt's extraneous "is" in
his penultimate line, and try again. It's a complex sentence, but at least
 grammatically correct with that change.

Fair enough. But if you're going to allow Dak to remove extraneous
state-of-being verbs, maybe one ought to allow Kerry to ex-post facto
insert the missing pronoun? i.e. "...you wind up getting US stuck in Iraq."

Or allow the substitution of "Dak" for "Walt" in your post, which is
obviously what you meant.

Which is to say that we all mis-speak from time to time; the fact that a
simple misstatement brings down the full fury of the wing-nut-o-sphere
indicates something about them, and it ain't charitable.

This little kurfuffle acts quite well as a screen to see if someone is
reasonable and thoughtful, or whether they just knee-jerk react to the
noise machine. Congratulations for passing, Dave. Respect is earned.
