Laughed by butt off. I swear I know that guy! Story follows:
At a launch ramp near Phoenix, a "butt" of a husband was sittin' in
the boat and hollerin' instructions, and cusswords at the ole lady
backin the truck, and boat trailer down the ramp. He finally yelled
"Git the hell outta here, and park the rig". SO....... She slammed it
in GO! and peeled up the ramp. No biggie, except "JERK" forgot to
unhook the bow hook. When the winch ran out of cable, the boat darned
became airborne, and he was flipped out, the boat bouncing along the
cement, faithfully followed the cable, and trailer clear up to where
she was parked on the blacktop. He jumped up and ran up to the truck
door, , , ,
and didn't say a word. About 30 people were yelling "Way to go!", "Yeah
Momma!" ,and other positive encouragement to mom, and slowly advancing
on the truck. I among the group, ready for whatever.
He wrasseled the boat, apparently not a triumph, up on the trailer,
as it was no longer lakeworthy. I used that lake quite a bit, and I
never saw them again. That was in the 80's, and I remember it well, and
still brings a smile to me.
