It's much to early in the morning and my eyes haven't had time to wake
up.
I parsed the title of this post as "Jet ski and Polka"... :)
Anyway...
Snowmobiles eh? Well, I rebuilt one in the early seventies - a Artic
something or other, redid the engine, fixed the ski thingies on the
front, new seat covers and a fancy new snow suit to keep me warm.
Took the thing out on Webster Lake and promptly sunk it and me in the
Narrows between the North and South ponds. The Narrows wasn't that
deep along the sides where we were riding - maybe three feet, but I
got wet, had to have the thing chopped out the next day, brought it
home and promptly sold it. Apparently the snow/ice slush was
disturbed enough to sink me.
I hate snowmobiles.
I drove over a hundred miles once to buy an old snowmobile from a
co-worker for my kids to have fun with. Got it running, my son took off
across the field and promptly ran over a steel fence post and ripped the
track apart. New track was about twice what I paid for the snowmobile so
that was the end of that idea. He's 43 now and buys his own toys and is
extremely careful as to what he runs into. I laugh whenever he tells me
about chewing up a $200 plus prop on something he's hit underwater.
