Any Egg Harbor Owners Out There?

I'm currently in the market for a new boat and I've been looking at a
few
37' Egg Harbor Convertibles. Specifically, I've been looking at the
2001
&
2003 models - with eh Cat 3126 engines.
I'd be interested in hearing comments from current owners.
Thanks,
Sandy K.
I had a 2002 37' Egg Harbor that I bought new. They called it a
"SportsYacht". It had the 3126 Cats rated at 420 hp each, IIRC. Sold
it
a couple of years ago as I lost interest in fishing and have other boats.
It's a beautiful looking boat ... nice lines. It's fast, but it's also
light so you have to back it off in anything over 3 footers or it will
almost leave the water. Fit and finish was top of the line. Even though
it
was new, I had it surveyed and he pointed out a number of areas that Egg
had
done an excellent job .... things you wouldn't think about looking for.
We had one issue with it. It was equipped with the cockpit freezer and
they
forgot to insulate it. As a result there was sweating on the interior
bulkhead. Egg Harbor sent a couple of guys up from New Jersey to MA where
I
had the boat and they fixed everything including adding the missing
insulation. I found the factory to be very responsive to any questions I
had, unlike the dealer I bought it from.
It handles like a sports car .... very responsive to gears and throttle
when
maneuvering.
We caught a hell of a lot of fish on that boat in the two years I had it,
including our first tuna.
Do you have any specific questions?

Thanks for getting back to me - I've been traveling and didn't see your
response until today.
The 2001 model that I've been looking at is priced way below market - it
seems that one of the engines blew on the way up from Florida to Cape Cod
this past spring. A new engine has been installed - however, I've become
quite jittery about making an offer - the price just seems too low. The
boat looks like it would fit my needs perfectly - now it's just a matter of
deciding which one of the 2 or threes that are on the market here in the NE
that I will pull the trigger on.
Thanks again for your thoughtful response - I may have some additional
questions in the future.
Thanks again,
Sandy K.
