.......kids?
We have 2, both of which are hard core boating addicts.
Our 21 year old is in her last year in college. She grew up on the
water, loves boating, fishing and generally being on the water. I got
her hooked on fishing when she was about 11 years old, spending the day
taking perch off her line and rebaiting it......I think she caught
(before limits) 50 yellow perch that day (we ate all of them). She
never had any interest in operating our boats other than our
inflatable. She continues to love the outdoors and nature and is
dating a guy sharing the same interests.
Our 18 year old in his first year in college. He also grew up on the
water (since he was an infant). He is a licensed boat operator,
taking (and passing) the Power Squadron classes last year. With my
help he has piloted our 32 footer and now our 20 footer. He will be
taking our boat out in his own next summer after some one on one
training. He is a health nut and runs 3 miles at least 6 times/week.
He also grew up on the water with us on our boats and has kept a high
interest in boating.
So how about yours................................?
Based on the responses it looks like we have members here have families
they deserve to be proud of. Way to go guys!
I don't know how I could've gotten through this weekend without
validation by you. Seriously.
I feel your pain. Seriously.
Really...I already had the hangman's noose set up on the rafters in the
garage, and then, along came JimH.
