About 15 pounds, nice big fat blue and the thing latched onto my

In the middle of the afternoon a small kid let out a terrified shreik
like he was being eaten alive by a shark. Everyone rushed over to see
what the problem was, and it turned out that a ticked off blue fish
had eaten through a burlap bag and grabbed this kid by the pant leg.

It was pretty hilarious once we realized he was OK.

First time for me was while I was stationed in Annapolis, MD. I didn't know
what a blue was, but one day everybody was running down to the bay with
fishing rods yelling that the "blues" were running. I grabbed my light
weight freshwater rod and put a six inch Rebel lure on it. Cast it into the
middle of the feeding frenzy and immediately hooked up with a 12 lb blue. I
don't think the Rebel had even hit the water.

Somehow I got it in and pulled it on shore beside me. I reached down,
intending to remove the lure that was about halfway into the blue's mouth.
It clamped down on the lure, shattering it into pieces. By then a friend
far more knowledgeable than I about blues came over, slapped my hand away
and explained what blues were all about.
