During my trip to Glenwood Canyon a month ago I spent a couple of hours
on the Colorado River playing with my Pentax Optio W10 in a video mode.
I tried the camera mounted in different ways on a kayak deck with a
suction cup (sticky pod) and as a helmet cam. I didn't add any music.
All sounds including underwater were recorded directly by the camera.
Here is a 3 minute movie assembled from those clips:

Optio W10 is main camera for paddling and other outdoor activities.

I picked up a W10 this summer, passing my original Optio WP to one of my
daughters. The video quality is much better than the first camera's was.
It's a nifty little camera that goes with us paddling, and just about
everywhere else that I don't haul my digital SLR and lenses along.
I've been mulling the possibility of adding a W10 to the big gear bag,
to be able to avoid having to pass my current single camera back and
forth from boat to boat. The only thing I don't like about little
cameras is the lack of zoom. My interest in paddling photography has
mainly to do with trying to capture the wildlife we see from the
water, and a 3X zoom leaves a lot to be desired. Even the 10X zoom in
the Canon S1IS in the lovely acrylic waterproof case that I've been
using very often doesn't get me as close as I wish or need. The new
S3IS has a 12X zoom, but for some reason Canon isn't making waterproof
cases for the S2 and S3, so I can't even be tempted to upgrade. In
any event, for my needs, a 3X zoom would be acceptable in a second
camera.
For what it's worth, all the pix on my kayaking pages (which I've been
working on lately) from 2004 on, have been taken with the S1IS.

And thanks for showing details of your mounts; I like the suction cup
mount. My efforts with various sorts of c-clamps have returned variable
results.
