Be careful when editing the registry. Before you do make a new restore
point using "System Restore".


You guys are pushing my small envelope of computer knowledge. I was
thinking that if I found something strange, I would edit one word in the
file ... add a letter or something .... and then see if the problem went
away. If not ... I could go back and remove the added letter.

The site's run by 3 guys who have been handling problems like this since
forever. Read the page, then on the left, click "Let's Dance". You could
follow all the instructions completely, or just read and find the link to
the free virus scan - I don't recall its name, but it's there. These guys
have helped thousands of listeners via their radio show. One guy's the
network admin for the University of Rochester, and another's been building,
selling and servicing machines for many years. The 3rd guy - I dunno what he
does. Their suggestions are all 100% dependable.
