Before you spend any money I'd suggest you make sure it doesn't have
transom, floor, or stringer rot. That's common on older fiberglass boats.

Then I'd say start checking out used boat part suppliers. There are a
number around on the internet. Something closer to you will be preferrable.
The engines are marinized car engines and doing the conversion is not that
big a deal if you end up getting an engine from an auto junk yard. I'm
assuming you're looking to minimize your spending. Otherwise you could just
buy a completely new merc engine and outdrive.
