Privilege Cat Question
Hello all,
I am looking at buying an early Privilege 39 catamaran.
The vessel has two cracks in the cockpit deck, just where the "T"
shaped cockpit extends out from bridgework to the hulls.
The cracks are about 8" or 9" long and they are fairly deep, probably
through the skin of the foam core sandwich.
Same spot on each side.
I will of course have a surveyor inspect it and moisture meter the
surrounding deck.
I am trying determine whether these are from loads on the cockpit deck
or from flexing of the hull deck structure.
I would have expected to see some other signs if it were flex, like
some spider cracks in the transom or something, but so far I don't
see anything.
I am wondering if anyone has seen this on other cats.
Any general observations on where the older Privileges show their age
is also most welcome.
Thanks.
