???????

If we were counting Americans (as in "most") and not electoral votes, your side
narrowly lost the last presidential election. Trying to be objective, it's till
hard to see how you righties have done much to endear yourselves to the
populace in the last couple of years. Based on the drop of the Prez. approval
rating from almost 90% to down around 50, it looks like momentum ain't working
for you, either. :-)

Presidential approval rating are all a matter of perception. People base
their perception on what they're fed by biased media sources. People
also have short attention spans, and cannot stomach a long term
comittment (no wonder the divorce rates are so high). Reality dictates
that most difficult situations are not so easy, nor quick, to resolve.

It's still bettrer to allow people the righ to choose their path, than
have the government intervene at every turn. Cradle to grave social
services do little more than breed dependance (and democratic votes).
You learn a better life lesson, when "tough love" is applied. It also
sends the wrong message, when those who achieve are demonized for their
accomplishments and made to prop up those who refuse to.
