Interesting to read Rangel's and Pelosi's statements to Chavez
yesterday......a day late and an obvious attempt at damage control as
they
know they (the libs) created the climate that paved the way for such
outlandish remarks from Chavez at the UN. Chavez probably thought that
since they have done it for the past several years it is OK for him to do
the same.

Yeah, really. Thank heavens that no Americans ever said anything
negative about previous presidents. Why do you suppose that a country
like the US, where no president prior to GWB has ever been demonized by
the opposition, suddenly adopted the horrible practice of saying unkind
things about the Chief Executive? The nerve!

By the way, back to the sort-of-boating-related topic:

According to the CITGO website that fuel dock you would suggest we
boycott *is* almost certainly owned by an indpendent American small
businessman. The boycott
wouldn't affect CITGO or Chavez much, they would just sell the same oil
elsewhere.
It could, however, cost one of your neighbors his house.

Follows:

Q: Why is there no 800# available for CITGO?
A: Because CITGO locations are independently owned and operated, all
comments, inquiries and disputes are handled at the ownership level.

Q: Why is there such a price difference between CITGO locations in my
area?
A: Locations are owned and operated by independent businessmen, so they
determine their own prices. By federal law, CITGO cannot control or
influence prices.

Q: Who is responsible for the location's operation (i.e., pumping
equipment not working, posted price is different than the receipt, no
receipt is available, dirty rest rooms, rude attendant)?
A: CITGO does not own or operate any of its branded locations. The
owner and operator of that specific location is responsible for its
operation and employees.

I will remember that argument when the topic of Wal-Mart comes up next. ;-)
