Maybe the deal falling through was your lucky

break
after all!

Good luck with the boat in Florida.

Holy Sheeeiiittt! Wow wow wowzee!
Thanks Charlie, I might hit the lottery after that

one!!

I realize that "Charlie" thinks of himself as a

detective
( well he is a dick) , the guy broke the keel guides

while
putting the boat on the trailer. he was too far in the
water.

Scotty

They had to truck the boat to Florida so the factory

could
repair the damage and
replace the entire keel. Smart money says he hit

something
solid at over 5
knots. Scotty has the "dumb" money covered.

Maybe you're remembering someone else. The NY guy wrote;
''Second, when retrieving the boat, it wasn't centered
properly and the keel ended up on top of the port keel
guide, which broke. The trailer was too far down the ramp

so
the boat was above the keel guides. I am still thinking
about how to avoid this situation in the future''

and then;
''My brother and I were able to assess the damage done to
the keel guides. They both are broken but, since all they

do
is "guide", they will not need to be replaced. We were

much
more careful retrieving the boat and it is perfectly
centered. I did not back the trailer too deep this time -
the front roller is about 5 inches above the water. Of
course, a different ramp would require a different level,

so
I plan to install trailer guides. I found quite a few on

the
web - can anyone recommend one brand over the other?

''

Nope. You are mistaken. This guy lost his keel's bulb and

did quite a bit of
other damage, making it clear that it wasn't the factory

defect he tried to make
it sound like. The ENTIRE keel had to be replaced. He also

kept this boat in a
slip, and wasn't using it as a trailer sailer. The saga

went on for a long time,
as he wailed about how he never hit anything and the bulb

simply fell off
without any help. Then it changed to "well I might have

had a soft grounding,
but nothing that serious". Finally the techs got a hold of

the boat and said it
looked like it hit something solid at speed, and the

entire keel and some of the
mechanism was trashed. They said it HAD to have suffered a

very hard impact to
do this kind of damage. The guy seems to be the Joe Izuzu

of sailing. This is
not the first time he's blown a potential sale of this

boat by being a jerk.
Someone else gave him a 10k deposit and then backed out

and ordered a new boat.
Wonder why? Scout is lucky to be looking elsewhere.

Sounds like the boat he is
looking at now is much better equipped for just a tiiny

bit more money.

You sure it was the same guy?
