That phone is made for corporate VoIP networks, say in a factory that has
802.11 wifi throughout the plant. You could use it from it to another
phone just like it in its IP-to-IP mode, without any service like Skype,
which it is not suitable for becasue Skype requires a special interface.

Of course, you MUST have a wifi internet connection wherever you want to
use it and MUST not get out-of-range of that particular wifi hotspot. Wifi
doesn't hand off from cell to cell like cellular phones do.....YET....but
that function IS coming.

If you want a wifi phone, don't buy that one. Wait until the Skype handset
shakeout plays itself out. New direct-to-skype-over-wifi phones are NOT
the answer, yet, either. They will only work for simple routers with
simple passwords, making them useless for ANY hotspot that requires a
webpage logon, like airports, marinas, restaurants, etc. They'll work fine
at home or on your own wifi hotspot, or one you find left open and there
are millions...(c;
