Yea, that stuff stinks almost worse than waste. The best treatment for most
holding tanks (which are anaerobic) is Odorlos, which works very well, in
part because it's chemical reaction makes oxygen which breaks down the stuff
and odors. If you have an aerobic holding tank (one with a large vent, maybe
1" diameter or larger with no charcoal filter) Raritan's KO is best. This is
what I use with great success. Most other stuff simply tries to mask the
odor.

The pumpout log is almost certainly a local or marina rule. I'd have to
wonder what they'd do if you just told them you used the marina head all the
time? Do they own a pumpout service that they charge for? Could just be
trying to cause a minimum useage? What do they want to see in the log? How
often? Sheesh.

of waste. I can't stand that minty smell and am very carefull not to add
to
much. I would not add any just to pump out the tank but add the correct
amount when empty based on a full tank. You can add it to the head and
pump
it through on the first use or add it down the pump out connection when
empty. I use the pump out connection mostly due to the minty smell in the
boat.

Holding Tank Treatment. It says add 2 ounces of
treatment and 1 pint of water for every 10 gallons
of tank capacity. I guess that should be gotten into
the tank by flushing it down the toilet, instead of
putting it in the top of the tank? The tank is only about
half full...should I fill it up more with water after adding
the treatment? How long should I let the treatment work
before pumping out?
