Why is it your employer's responsibility to provide you with health
insurance? There was a time, not too long ago, when you paid for all of
your own medical and dental needs.

It's part of the compensation package, dummy. Here, I'll pay you X
amount of dollars a year, and give you medical and dental coverage.
It's a win win situation. The employer doesn't pay as much as you would
individually, because it's a group plan.
