Dave Disneys Cove of Wonder!
Dave's Cove of Wonder has a cool breeze even on the hottest days. It
also free of wakes,
True.
See!
has no trouble getting to his boat because, while the Cove allows cool
breezes, stiffer winds are blocked in an uncanny manner.
You gotta look up that word, BS.
There is NO place on the LIS that is not vulnerable to bad weather. The
folks at Centreport Yacht club (a very nice place) will explain to you
that they are the most sheltered, but even their launches have to pack
it in at times.
He never waits to sail. The launches are always there and rarely busy.
True.
So we can assume that there are very few sailboats at your club or that
they rarely sail. Must be if you never have more than four customers at
a time.
out the mouth of the Cove, but not because of the wind.
It's all of 1/4 to 1/2 mile.
Good great galaxies!!! 1/2 mile of motoring EVERY TIME! How positively
posh!
Hey, first ya gotta unhook and store that AC unit that you have to
have to
be comfortable, and unhook your shore power, get somebody to handle
your
dock lines, etc. etc. etc.
Store the ac??? Are you on drugs? Heart of Gold has built in 17'000 BTU
air conditioning and heat. And maybe you need help with docklines, but
Suzanne just tosses them on to the dock and we're off. The only time
we've called the dockbunny is to offer her a drink. Okay, that's
usually when I'm alone. She's 21 with red hair and already has her 6
pack...cute as a button!
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Since it's off the river the salinity varies
from time to time.
A freshwater rinse is good practice after every sail.
BS, the only one who's pretentious here is you.
After everyone having a laugh at your boat, YOU were the one to start
moaning that NMYC isn't really a club. The term has little meaning. To
me a yacht club in the tradional sense has a restaurant and bar,
organizes it's own races, and has boats for non-boat owners to use. But
get real: NMYC is private. It doesn't require "member support." It's a
specific type of club and only a few others on the LIS are as nice.
NMYC does not own the slips. Even Capri doesn't offer what we have and
that's 177 dollars per foot compared to our 110.
There's a reason there's a nine year waiting list to get into the
Cove.
No nice slips nearby? Be real. Slips are expensive and hardly common
here. We were 100% filled this season and now we've added a mooring
field to help with transients. Waiting lists are even longer at the
boat basin in Manhattan. Does that make it nice?
Hey, dude. It's nice where you are, but this location offers more for
just a bit more money. And I don't pay any of it.
