Default More on Solar

PS has an interesting article on MPPT regulators this month. Made me feel
much better about the $250 I invested in one. OTOH, by the time I get Rutu
in the water the MPPT regulators and the solar panels will probably be more
efficient.

@b28g2000cwb.googlegroups.com:

I went to the site cited about getting the enormous results with solar.

I can't see how you read the info. My experience was duplicated with
the site's info.

That site led me to
http://www.where-rv-now.com/Notes/So...php#Calculator which is a
pretty cool calculator for any latitude and nature of panel, but
doesn't add in the effect of a high voltage panel array and MPPT...

My experience is that you get a maximum of 1/2 of the rated wattage when
charging batteries which are at 12.5V+. When I connect the panels to a
dead
load, then I get the rated output. Of course this is at noon in the
Caribbean with perfect conditions.
