Default Heart of Gold and the Genset

Couple questions...is it gaseous or diesel?

Must be water cooled right? Hush box excludes air cooled
Were is it going to exhaust?
Going to need another strainer and thru hull.
4kw should run a 18000 BTU just keep Suzy's hairdryer ashore.
You going to wait till fall to install?

You know...I didn't ask much about it yet. I was pretty excited at the
offer. I'm guessing it's gas since the Cruiser 34 has one and it's gas.

I'd hold off and find a diesel genset, hopefully you are going to mount
a remote fuel tank. Fueling a hot genset is very dangerious, and you
will need spark free blowers, and flame screens on your tank vents.
Plus I'd put a blower in the locker the genset is mounted, gas
gensets.. really most gen sets are prone to spring a leak once and a
while due to vibration. Just a drip in a confined locker could become
a major explosion hazard with gasoline.

They'll have to set up a thru-hull and so on, which is why we'll wait
for the season to wrap up. Our AC is 17000 BTU's total. The 4KW will be
able to start it so long as not much else is on. Should run it without
a hitch. The platform is aft in the large starboard storage area...not
a great place for that weight.

I thought it was "Feather light"..Since it's aft hanging out over the
water when it blows hopefully no one will be injured.

Will your insurance double due to gasoline aboard?
