Default What a Dump! The CS27

Oh my....just found this in the Sailnet archive!

We looked at two CS 27's, both in pretty good shape for their vintage.
The second one was as nice as they come, but it's just not an
attractive boat at all. To say it appears dated is an understatement.
It was ugly when released, so much so that some dealers wouldn't even
carry it. We only took one test sail. My wife and I have enough of an
eye that the 27 was just too offensive to hang on a mooring. Still, it
was another boat to sail and we set out in mostly mild conditions to
find that the little CS did sail rather well. There was nothing
exciting about it, but it sailed better and felt sturdier than it's
appearance might suggest.
We thought enough of ourselves to keep looking and finally bought a C&C
29, a better boat in every respect, though a bit more expensive.
Charles says that the CS reminded him of a capsized boat, but the C&C
is finely shaped and looks as good as it sails...which is better than
the smaller CS. The CS languished for quite a while at Brewer and
finally sold for 9K. At that price it's probably not a bad starter
boat, but I suggest you keep looking. Good luck, Barry & Maria.

BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!! OH MY!!!!
