Is that an old merc? You can still get service manuals from clymers
for most years of i/os. It has a good outdrive/engine removal and
installation steps. On mercs you ave to remove the outdrive first.
Check the maximum lift on the cherry picker cause some don't go high
enough for boats on trailers. You may be able to just lift it and
removethe flywheel without actually taking the engine all the way out
of the boat. Imho I would have just bought a new flywheel so I could
do the whole thing at once. The gears are normally straight so
rotation doesn't matter.
