You're lucky. We got a million of 'em here. They're a PITA and NYC won't
take 'em back. I guess you never really hang around Oriental very much,
the population there is about 50% Noo Yawkerrs.

My understanding is that the tunnels and bridges leading away from Manhattan
operate on the diode principle--the New Yawkahs can leave but they aren't
allowed back in.

Makes sense.

We met a few of them in Oriental and New Bern. Most had mellowed out a bit,
but the locals were far more amiable. Once a New Yawkah, always a New
Yawkah.
