Trim Issue/Wired Incorrectily Maybe

Hello
First thanks in advance to all posters!
BACKGROUND:
I just bought a 1986 21 foot sea ray cuddy with markings on the side of
the boat 210 CSL and Sun Runner (think it is a sea ray, maybe not),
chevy/merc stern drive 260hp. No manuals or boat info, very clean and
great motor.
ISSUE:
On the instrument panel I have a silver joy stick that is six
directionial, from top working clock wise it says 1. bow up 2.
starboard up 3. starboard down 4. bow down 5. port down 6. port up. Is
this trim control? No wires hooked up to it. A new shifter has been
put in and it has a up down tilt switch on it.
First day on the water (loved it) boat would (not sure about correct
terminology) severily lisp to side of extra adult at all speeds. Is
this trim control for that issue and can it be rehooked up or not?
Does this boat have trim control or do you get rid of lisp different
way, yes i made adults moved around but if at speed took a while to
correct.
Hope some one knows something.
Thanks

ps any info on the boat in general would be great help also info on how
to take care of it (new boat owner, graduated form PWC to boat!!)
If you can identify the brand of trim tabs you should be able to contact the
manufacturer and get some wiring diagrams. If the tabs are in place and you
can locate a trim pump somewhere near the engine, chances are you can locate
a trim tab wiring harness near the dash. If you can get them working you
will realize what an asset they are to your size boat.
