Some people are learning that waging warfare against dedicated
non-traditionals (the Iraqi insurgents, the Palestinians, Hezbollah, et
cetera) is a process that will never lead to "victory." The "situation"
in Iraq has gotten a lot worse in the last few weeks. Even if the
Israelis drive Hezbollah into Syria, as soon as they leave, Hezbollah
will return to Lebanon, with Iran and Syria picking up the $$$ tab. This
of course plays into the hands of the warmongering corporations, their
political partners and lackeys, and brain-dead flagwavers like our
friend Bert here, the "keyboard warriors" who sit on their butts while
the young sons and daughters of mostly lower income families go "over
there" to die.

Yes, things have gotten much better and safer for Americans in this
