Water-Fuel Separator?
Boats have a lot more fuel quality issues than most other gas powered
things. They spend a lot of time in and around water which tends to
increase the amount of water that gets into their fuel systems from
condensation. They also sometimes get fuel from less than perfect
sources like marinas and 5 gallon cans.
I dump my water filter into a glass cup a couple times a year and I
usually get a inch or so of water and some crud. I let it sit so the
water and crud settle to the bottom. I then slowly pour the gas off
the top back into the filter and put it back on. There is so much
filter surface in these that they are good for years if you dump them
occasionally.

How critical is it to have this filter running (OMC 115HP Jet boat)? Mine
broke and leaked therefore just bypassed it and all seems to work fine.
