Default Water-Fuel Separator?

How critical is it to have this filter running (OMC 115HP Jet boat)? Mine
broke and leaked therefore just bypassed it and all seems to work fine.

If you don't mind having water in your cylinder and oil pan it really is
not big deal.

Actually, as long as you never have any water in your fuel system you
really don't need the fuel separator..... but, if you do have
condensation in your tank, or you buy from a marina that had some water
in their gas then not having the filter could be an expensive lesson.

I have always purchased inexpensive insurance versus gambling on never
having an accident.
