Default Powerboats Make Sense, Claims Doug

In the world of "practical boating" Doug has made it quite clear"
Trawlers are more practical than sailboats for cruising.

Now, I'm just a day sailor and weekend cruiser, but you don't have to
be a rocket scientist to see why Doug's right. Here's why:

1) Trawlers typically have less draft and can go more places.
2) Trawlers have no tall masts and can pass under bridges.
3) Trawlers have long range and could economy among powerboats.

Now here are the advantages of a sailboat or Motorsailor:

1) Can have low draft for entry to any place a trawler can go.
2) Easy to get most bridges to open up.
3) Unlimited range under sail.
4) Can't be crippled due to engine failure.
5) requires much less fuel and pollutes less.
6) Quiet under sail and beautiful
7) Often more seaworthy

Hmmmmm, maybe you do need to be a rocket scientist!
